Description

This is the birthday present for one of my friends :)
Thrall (and orcs overall) is his favourite character, so here is my take of him riding Snowsong :)
the Doomhammer is more defined in real life

Thanks to everyone who has added me to their watchlist during these weeks, I really appreciate that! If you don't like this fantasy stuff, I hope you'll see your cup of art soon from me :)

Astonishing work. The first moment I saw it, I instantly thought of one of the songs by Amon Amarth, singing in deep brutal growl about wars between gods. Although I find this technique a little bit crude and grotesque, I think it's actually a good fit for a theme of an orc riding a wolf with a huge war hammer.

The colors is what made this drawing for me. The green complimenting the red is just the perfect suit for an impending motif of doom and terror, plus makes the main character stand out very vividly.

However, there are some backsides to the whole thing. First of all... the wolf looks waaaay too cute. It almost feels as if he was put here from a totally different story. Secondarily, I feel like some of the shading was slightly bit missing in a few parts, like the face or the weapon. In most spots, the shading appears dirty and thus do not enhance the impact. Even though I think the overall is great, there is still something missing and these two things might have just been the ultimate reason.

Please do not think I judge your artwork negatively or lacking. I would say, the factors I've mentioned in this critique is what makes your piece somehow... insufficient. The tale the drawing tells captivated me and drew my attention strongly enough to make me come and write a few words; and these minor flaws aren't taking away too much of its charm!
